Sharing the joy with confidence

People purchase and collect art, antiquities and collectibles for various reasons. The first reason should be that it appeals to you, that it touches you on some level. Art can help make your life and your living space a much more interesting and beautiful place to be. Secondly, people also purchase art and things in the hope that one day it may appreciate in value. If this happens you are charmed because not only is your investment worth more but you have also had a tangible item that has brought you pleasure over time. That’s a win-win situation.

Buying art, sculpture, antiquities and collectibles can be a fun yet scary endeavor because the good things cost a lot. The better things cost even more. The better things go beyond aesthetics. At Gallan Art and Collectibles we try not only to provide beautiful, meaningful and imaginative selections for our customers but value as well.

What makes a particular selection a better value?

The answer? A handful of reasons. (1) Aesthetics. What redeeming quality does this piece of art possess? (2) Authorship Who created it? (3)Validity. Is it a forgery? In the case of an authorized limited edition re-print, is it the true medium authorized by it’s author? Is the signature, lot and edition numbers correct? (4) Condition. If it’s in bad shape it won’t be worth much to anyone. Some aging is expected of course. (5) Provenance. What has been the chain of ownership? This can be a daunting if not an impossible task to accomplish unless it is a well know and documented as higher priced art usually is.

A promise to our customers

At Gallan Art and Collectibles (GAC) we love art in all it’s forms (almost all) and that is why we started this business. We don’t claim to be experts or hold higher degrees of authority. Occasionally, a professional certificate of authentication (COA) accompanies an item.

However, if you find that our description of any item is flawed or incorrect after purchasing your item we will refund 100% of the purchase price including tax for thirty days after purchase.

We accept “trade ins” of any items bought at GAC in which we will credit the purchase price (tax not included) towards another item of higher value. Gallan Art and Collectibles may, at our discretion accept reasonable offers for our wares. However those items purchased below asking price will be excluded from our 100% refund guarantee and will not be considered an acceptable “trade in”.
